Justin-Lee Schultz is a 13-year-old, multi-talented jazz pianist and talk box artist originally from Johannesburg, South Africa now based in the United States. He has taken social media by storm with over 45 MILLION video views on Instagram (21.4M), Facebook (18.6M) and YouTube (5.7M)!
Being part of a gifted musical family Justin performs and tours with his 16-year-old sister Jamie-Leigh Schultz on drums and their father, mentor and bassist Julius Schultz as "The J.L.S. Experience". Their musical style is heavily rooted in Jazz incorporating elements of R&B, Pop, and Gospel.
Justin-Lee Schultz & The J.L.S. Experience were finalists on 'South Africa's Got Talent' (E.TV). Breaking into the U.S. market they've made television appearances on 'Steve Harvey's Little Big Shots' (NBC), 'America's Most Musical Family' (Nickelodeon), 'Christmas with Tye Tribbett & Friends' (TBN) and 'Harry Connick Jr. Show' (NBC Universal) to rave reviews.
At the age of 3 years old Justin started showing interest in music when his dad bought him a guitar. He would practice with his dad and wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. In April 2012 Justin was introduced to the keyboards and instantly became hooked. Within a short period of time, his playing had taken off like wildfire, surprising his parents daily. His dad decided to post videos of Justin on YouTube so friends and family could watch him play and the response was overwhelming.
During this same time period, Justin’s first stage performance was with his dad at a Cd release in East London, which was an amazing experience for him. Justin had only been playing for two weeks and had the audience screaming out his name, standing in amazement not believing what they were witnessing.
Justin had the privilege to perform privately for the legendary Quincy Jones at his home in Los Angeles which has been one of the highlights of his young career. In December of 2018, Justin's first U.S. single "My Playground" was released independently under J.L.S. Production House. He's currently working on his first solo album scheduled for release in May 2020 on Shanachie Entertainment the home of Jeff Lorber, Najee, Pieces of a Dream and Norman Brown to name a few. Justin hopes to inspire other young kids to nurture their musical talents and pursue their dreams.
Justin-Lee Schultz & The J.L.S. Experience have performed at various venues/festivals sharing the stage and opening up for renown recording artists.
